Getting to Les Brisants: practical information

By car, taxi or motorcycle...

• To reach the island of Oléron:

- From Bordeaux: A10 motorway – Exit 25 at Saintes, or 37 at Mirambeau, direction island of Oléron.

- From Nantes: Exit La Rochelle, then follow Marans -La Rochelle -Rochefort then island of Oléron.

- From Paris: Follow the A10 motorway – La Rochelle exit, then follow Surgères – Rochefort – island of Oléron.

• Crossing the bridge to the island of Oléron:

Opened in 1966 and nearly 3km long, the bridge to Île d'Oléron is the island's only road access. Crossing it is free and always a magnificent experience! In particular, don't hesitate to look to your right; on a clear day, you'll see the famous Fort Boyard.

• To reach Les Brisants once on the island of Oléron:

Access to the villa is very easy; simply follow the signs for "La Cotinière" from the bridge to Île d'Oléron. The journey from the bridge takes approximately twenty minutes.

At the end of the journey, following the seaside tourist route, you will find the house on your left on the dune next to the ocean just before the entrance to the port of La Cotinière.

By train or bus...

There is no train station on the Île d'Oléron. Depending on your point of origin, one of its train stations might be more convenient for you:

- If you are coming from Paris: Surgères station or La Rochelle station.

- If you are coming from Bordeaux: Saintes train station.

- If you are coming from Nantes: Rochefort train station.

Then, connecting buses to the island of Oléron are available.
